It is a no brainer that online shopping has evolved and has increased in the past few years. South Africans are rapidly adapting to online shopping. Social media platforms have also assisted largely in making online shopping a huge success. I am personally glad that we can tap into unique products and brands without the hassle of traveling far and wide.
We have also seen a large amount of online businesses promoting themselves on social media, stocking make up, jewelry and clothing. As you scroll down your IG feed, its extremely hard to resist these local online businesses. I recently decided to support local and splurged on a few items from Aara Jewelry.
Aara Jewelry is founded by Riz Dhoda who has an eye for all things unique and beautiful. Her business is based in Johannesburg and she is really great with designing handmade jewelry. I loved the details of her jewelry so I decided to give it a try.

When I did, I received a response almost immediately with a price list. I went ahead and placed my order however I had major issues with payment as my bank did not update my cellphone number. I was so impressed with the professionalism and patience from Aara Jewelry , they kept my items until I could get to a bank. The items was despatched and I was kept in the loop throughout the process, I received my goodies within 2 days as promised.
APPEARANCE AND QUALITY OF AARA JEWELRY
The jewelry was placed in gorgeous little white bags and I was so excited to unravel them. I am not sure about you, but I always get a little tense when opening my online goodies, because a lot of the time ‘what you see is not what you end up getting’ .This was not the case with Aara as all jewelry items were exactly like the images showcased on their IG page.
The Afra Tassels have an amazing authentic look and feel to them. They are bold and classy and can add the perfect touch to an outfit(if you don’t believe me, check out my previous post ). I love them even more because they are so lightweight and comfortable on the ear.
The triangular shaped Hamsa Stud has a vintage and minimal look to it and is perfect for everyday wear. If you have a love for finer details, then you would love this pair from Aara. Sometimes less is so much more!
My utmost favourite thing about these chokers are the fact that they are made to size! This is a huge deal for me because I have bought many chokers and not used them/barely used them due to it being too large. The velvet and lace fabrics are of such good quality, its amazing! The fabrics are thick and luxurious. I have been making use of these items for the past 2 months and I am so pleased to see that they do not get tarnished easily.
LETS TALK ABOUT THE MOOLAH:
I paid R60 each for the earrings which is such a steal! Tassel earrings are averaging at R120 at chain stores.I paid R40 each for the chokers and I really do not need to express how ridiculously affordable this is!
There is a courier fee attached which is R50. I spent R250 for 4 items in total including the courier fee and I was more than stoked with my goodies.
I will definitely be keeping a close eye on the new editions from Aara Jewelry. If you are looking for a trendy and affordable jewelry stop, hit the follow button on Aara Jewelry. Their Instagram link is below. Till next time. Ciao! Xx
